The Band

Larry Dawson   - Lead Vocals and Rhythm Guitar
Larry is the only remaining founding member of the band, Larry has been singing and playing music since he was a kid. He has fronted several bands starting as early as his high school days. When he was in his 20’s, Larry did the acoustic duo thing at local clubs & restaurants including Mountain Jacks and Ground Round. After taking a decade or two to start a family and build a career, he was recruited by some rockers at a Karaoke bar to front their band “Zero Hour”. When that band fell apart, Larry and two other remaining members formed “The Sloppy Joe Band”. Larry plays several guitar brands including Gibson, Ovation and Takamine and his rig is a Traynor YCV80 with Line6 POD XT-Live effects.



Mike Maliszewski  ( Mal ) - Bass Guitar and Vocals
Mal has been part of the Cleveland music scene for the past Thirty years, performing in such venues as Tower City Amphetheater, Peabody's Down Under, The Phantasy Nightclub, Sportsters in Geneva, Shooters in the Flats and most of the clubs in N.E. Ohio.   Embracing all styles, from Jazz and Classical, to Metal and Funk,  Mal's major influence is Progressive Rock.  Bands like Genesis,  King Crimson, Rush, Yes, Jethro Tull and ELP had a huge impact on his musical developement, as well as Classic Rock bands like Led Zeppelin, Bad Company and Deep Purple.  Mal's Favorite bassist include Tony Levin, Greg Lake, Victor Wooten and Stu Hamm.  This musical background has contributed to his participation in these local original bands: Advance Passage, Hazard Profile, Artica and his current project, On The Air, which has a CD release, TV Glare, due out Jan, 2009.

Bob Bailey  - Drums and Percussion, and Vocals
Bob has been playing the drums since he was 5 years old.  His favorite artists are Eddie Money, The Doors, Rush, Cheap Trick, Genesis and Earth, Wind and Fire.  His biggest influences are Neal Peart, Buddy Rich, Phil Collins and Ringo Starr.  Bob has played over the years with Orion, Silhouette, Hawkins Highway, TVS and Camera Shy.  He has played in such venues as The Coral, Spanky's, The Agora, Peabody's, Liquid Therapy, Quaker Steak and Lube, Around the Corner and many more.   Bob's favorite music is classic rock which he feels really brings his style to the top.  He plays on a 6-piece DW Collectors Series, Zebra Pearl Inlay Kit strongly taking advantage of the tone of his Zildjian Cymbals and Pearl Signature Snares.



Scott Priest  -  Lead Guitar and Vocals
Scott has been playing guitar since  1977.  His biggest influences are The Beatles and Led Zeppelin/Jimmy Page.  Other influences include Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Robin Trower, Allman Bros, Peter Frampton, Alex  Lifeson, Frank Marino,  Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, BB King and Stevie Ray Vaughn.  Too many others to name.   He started up his first band in 1983 as a 4 piece all Original band called "HOURGLASS".   He was a founding member of Revolution Pie (Local Beatles Tribute band) as well as worked in various other bands such as The Crawdaddys and Classic Overdrive (where he met Larry Dawson).  He is also a current member of "The Lords of Russell".  His biggest passion still lies with The Blues and 60's-70's Classic Rock.  He is currently using a 1998 Fender American Deluxe Telecaster, 1998 Fender Stratocaster,  and his 1980 Gibson Les Paul Custom.  He plays through an VOX Valvetronix AD120VTX (Blue Series)  2 x 12 Combo.
